Effective Habits That Promote Leadership Performance

Once Aristotle said “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act, but a habit”. Despite being worn out and sometimes stripped of its meaning, the quote remains in the context of executive coaching. As a global mindset coach, Dr David is very much aware that the link between knowing the theories and translating them into practice is a habit. This can help many to adapt to change and adopt behaviors that develop their inner and outer-core leadership competencies. For developing habits one needs to integrate focus, patience, and conscious effort.

Habits that promote leadership performance -

Commit to continuous improvement. This is one of the basic principles of business coaching. The base of the outer core of his leadership consists of his three Cs. Your capabilities, which means what you can achieve. Your commitment, which means what you will achieve.  And your connection, which translates into what you must achieve. As a leader, you must commit to continually improving these three components. By committing to that, you instill a culture of continuous improvement throughout your organization.

Plan ahead, both long and short term.

Making a plan the night before is a great way to add structure to your day. Such short-term planning allows you to prioritize tasks and start executing. By sticking to your plan, you avoid being distracted so you can accomplish more during the day. To make short-term planning a habit, take time each day to create a mental schedule of what you would like to accomplish the next day.

Take time out of the day to train.

Do not run yourself physically against yourself. Your physical fitness is closely linked to your mental and emotional fitness.

Try to learn something new every day.

As part of your commitment to continuous improvement, try to capture a lot of information from unofficial sources on the go.

Give your most difficult project a top priority.

Take care of the lion's share of work as soon as possible while your motivation and energy are at a maximum. Successfully solving the most difficult part of the day can give a big impetus to the rest of the working day.

Dr David Clive Price’s global leadership coaching will provide you with the necessary tools, know-how and expertise to coach in an effective way in many organizations.

The Communication Problems That Can Affect Your Leadership

If you go straight to your office first and close the door of the day, you communicate with something completely different than when you greet people and make it clear that, for example, you are available. How Leaders Help Strategic Thinking Flow Throughout An Organization

Home Strategic thinking is a deliberate and rational thought process that considers both the immediate situation and desired long-term results. It is both realistic and forward-looking , considering both situational constants and the inevitability of change. The strategic thinker is neither stuck in the present and focused on tactics, nor stuck in the clouds , envisioning a future without mapping out steps to success.  Why Strategic Thinking Skills Are Essential to Strong Leadership Leadership that focuses on individual “trees” without taking in a view of the entire “forest” is unlikely to innovate. Myopic leadership may be fine for the short term , but it doesn’t lay foundations for a healthy , long-term future. A leader who is skilled at strategic thinking knows how to do several things competently: ·          Analyse   opportunities and vulnerabilities ·          Weigh the feasi...
